About Horizon

What Horizon is

Horizon (horizonapp.link) is a free daily briefing on world news, published every morning around 8:30 AM Paris time, in French and English. It comes in three parts — World, Geopolitics, Markets — plus indicators (markets, cybersecurity, natural disasters, health, sanctions, currencies, climate) and a risk index for the world and for every country. No ads, no account, no personal data collected.

What Horizon is not

Horizon does not produce original reporting: it summarizes and links to the newsrooms that did the work. It is not a financial advice service. Nor is it an app for tracking films, series or games, or a Meta product: other services are named "Horizon" and have no connection with this site.

How it is made

Every morning, around thirty French- and English-language news feeds are collected. An artificial intelligence model (Claude, by Anthropic) groups the articles by event and writes the summaries, following written instructions that are identical from one day to the next; the briefing is published without article-by-article human review. Every event links to its original articles. The World and Geopolitics levels are set by the model against fixed criteria; the Markets level, the indicators and the risk index are computed from public data, using thresholds and a formula published on the Method page.

Who runs it

Horizon is designed and run by Benjamin, in France, on a personal basis. It has no shareholders and no advertisers: it is funded by tips from its readers.
