After the destruction by the United States of five Iranian tankers on Tuesday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards fired ballistic missiles at an American military base in Jordan and attacked around ten ships attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude surpassed 100 dollars for the first time since July 2024.

The US military claims to have destroyed five Iranian oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz, in addition to three previously destroyed. In retaliation, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps struck a US military base in Jordan and targeted around twenty vessels, including oil tankers, in the Gulf. Jordan claims to have intercepted a barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles.
