Floods in Nepal and a shipwreck in Indonesia cause major loss of life, while a measles resurgence raises concerns in the United States.
The death toll from flash floods that occurred in Nepal has reached 1,399, according to authorities, with around 5,170 people still reported missing. Search and rescue operations continue, led by a joint command of security forces.

Four days after a ship sank in the Java Sea in Indonesia, 129 people remain missing. Six ships as well as helicopters and aircraft have been deployed for surface search operations.
