In a matter of days of lightning offensive, Houthi rebels, backed by Iran, have taken control of the entire Yemeni coastline of the Red Sea and the strategic Bab-El-Mandeb Strait, displacing nearly 94,000 people according to IOM. They are multiplying attacks against Saudi Arabia, including a strike that wounded 13 people.
This strait is a major maritime passage point for global trade and oil, and its takeover by a group allied with Iran is reshaping regional balances.
Brent crude exceeds 107 dollars, driven by the paralysis of the Strait of Hormuz and the Houthi offensive in the Red Sea, including drone attacks against an oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia.
